Teatro Municipal do Porto (TMP) is now part of the organisation that works towards a qualified and diversified cultural offer, promoting the right to enjoyment and qualified cultural creation for the entire population.
In order to join the Rede de Teatros e Cineteatros Portugueses (RTCP), the TMP underwent an accreditation process that involved assessing the quality of the facilities — the Rivoli and Campo Alegre theatres — their human resources and management, among other factors.
The RTCP is a Portuguese government project that aims to create a national network of theatres, cinemas and other cultural facilities. It is an important instrument in the development of cultural policies, which seeks to alleviate regional asymmetries and promote territorial cohesion in access to culture and the arts in Portugal.
There are now 101 accredited cultural facilities in the national network.
